description

Why you need it:

  • The information highlights the importance of male reproductive health and the significant role it plays in conception. Emphasising the impact of poor sperm health on conception success and potential birth defects underscores the need for proactive measures to enhance sperm quality.
  • Planning for pregnancy should begin at least three months before conception. This period allows for lifestyle adjustments, such as quitting smoking, moderating alcohol and drug use, addressing infections, and adopting a healthy diet.
  • The details stress the importance of specific nutrients for supporting sperm health. From B-vitamins and antioxidants to CoQ10 and amino acids like L-Carnitine and L-Arginine, each component plays a crucial role in various aspects of sperm development, transport, and protection.

Why we love it:

  • The information recognises that optimising sperm health involves more than just one or two factors. It advocates for comprehensive lifestyle changes, nutritional support, and the inclusion of specific nutrients known for their positive impact on male reproductive health.
  • Each nutrient is explained in terms of its role in fertility, whether it's supporting the immune system, protecting DNA, aiding cell division, or promoting healthy tissue growth. This clarity helps users understand the specific benefits associated with each component.
  • Encouraging proactive steps, such as planning for pregnancy well in advance, quitting harmful habits, and adopting a nutrient-rich diet, aligns with a proactive and preventive approach to reproductive health resonating with individuals seeking to optimise their chances of conception.

What's inside (and why):

  • B-Vitamins: Regulate hormonal activity, support immune system functioning, and play a role in the formation of red blood cells and DNA.
  • Vitamin E: An antioxidant that protects egg and sperm DNA from damage, essential for metabolism, and supports nervous system development.
  • CoQ10: Vital for energy production, with a focus on ATP production crucial for biological processes, especially present in high concentrations in egg cells.

We're pregnant after 6 weeks of Zita West Vitamins

My husband and I bought Zita West female and male preconception support pack after trying for a baby for a year. He said he has never felt more energised and noticed such a difference in himself even when exercising. We have taken many different ttc vitamins before this but we never felt any different and we both had lot's of neon urine. Yes these costed a little bit more than most vitamins which you can buy in boots but they have worked for us and I now have a positive pregnancy test. We thought IUI / IVF was the next step for us so we're really pleased we made the investment in our Zita West vitamins, recipe books, diet, stress levels and exercise. Thank you Zita West x

Good multivitamin. We use vitafem and vitamen.

The Mac Daddy supplements

After about a 2 year pregnancy journey, with several loses, we tried Zita West. Thinking it was worth a try. Within a few months my wife became pregnant, after only 2 months. Though we suffered a loss she fell instantly pregnant the following month, we are sitting here at almost 22 weeks and cannot wait to meet our first born.
We refer to Zita West as the "Mac Daddy" of fertility supplements. Cannot recommend enough.

So far so good these are the only form of tablets I can take without getting an upset stomach all of the tablets with folic in don’t agree with me! These are better quality ingredients and the Folate agrees with me! So happy 😀

Frequently asked

Will Vitamen improve my partner's sperm count?

Research has shown that vitamins and minerals used in Vitamen help with sperm health. Sperm health includes mobility, motility, formation, and sperm count.

Should my partner be doing anything else to improve the health of his sperm?

There are a lot of lifestyle changes that can be made productively.

What is 'RDA' and why are so many of the ingredients in Vitamen higher than 100%?

“RDA” is an abbreviation of “Recommended Daily Allowance.” The RDA was devised by the Dept of Health in the UK in 1979 to provide guidance on the intake of a limited number of specific vitamins and minerals that an average adult should have daily in order to avoid a deficiency that may lead to disease or general ill-health. Whereas this was, and remains, a useful benchmark for judging the contribution that any supplement may make to reaching those minimum requirements, it wasn’t intended to represent an indication of optimum intake. You will probably have noticed that many supplements, particularly premium priced ones such as our own, contain daily levels that are frequently many times higher than the RDA, sometimes substantially so. This is because the vitamins and minerals concerned have been set at therapeutic levels in an attempt to boost the body’s store of the nutrients concerned, often for a particular and limited period of time, the need for which can of course vary depending on factors such as general health, age etc. It is universally recognised that pregnancy, and preparing for pregnancy, for example, benefit from special attention to nutrition on the part of both partners. All of the formulations within the Zita West range are well within the Government’s guidelines for what represents the upper safe limit (USL) for long term daily supplementation of any given nutrient.

Can I take Vitamen Boost instead of Vitamen?

NO. Zita West usually recommend that all of their clients who are trying to get pregnant consider taking, as a first nutritional step, a good quality multivitamin and mineral supplement, like Vitamen, to help support their everyday diet. Vitamen has been specifically developed to help protect a man’s daily intake of those micro-nutrients that we believe are the most important for all- round pre-conceptual health. Vitamen Boost has been developed as a companion product to Vitamen for those of their clients who might also benefit from boosting their intake of antioxidants to help further protect their paternal DNA from oxidative stress. Research suggests that oxidative stress may be associated with an increased incidence of sub-fertility, recurrent miscarriage and IVF failure. Which is why Zita West recommend the product specifically for couples who are finding it difficult to conceive rather than those who are just about to try. Because it has been designed as a companion product to Vitamen, it does not duplicate many of the important vitamins and minerals that can be found in Vitamen and it isn’t suitable, therefore, as a substitute for it.
