Julie Gough

I am Julie, and I am a BANT registered nutritionist. I have had a lifelong interest and passion in health, fitness and nutrition, yet despite my knowledge and experience I still used to get lost in the conflicting and confusing information on what was right and wrong.

Four years ago I started to enter peri-menopause and then menopause, I didn`t understand what was happening to me. I was having terrible anxiety attacks which I put down to the grief I was experiencing having recently losing my Mother to Cancer, hot flushes, night sweats - causing broken sleep, muscle aches, joint pains, you name it I had it. I always thought naively, as it now turns out that menopause was just hot flushes and could never understand what all the fuss was about.

On visiting my GP all that was offered to me was conventional HRT, however given the circumstances in my family history of oestrogen driven cancers and heart disease I was not happy to take it due to the risks associated with it. I also learned that HRT only controlled symptoms and didn`t solve them, I felt that I needed to take control of my health and wellbeing and decided to find another way…….

I started experimenting with various supplements recommended on Google and other platforms but to no avail, researching through Google just confused me even further and so I took the decision to study Nutritional Therapy with the College of Naturopathic Medicine.

I went on my own health journey through the 3 years of the course but this gave me the tools to not only enable me to help myself but also other close family members and friends. I became so passionate about what I was learning, I felt that I had to share the knowledge I had gained to help others that were experiencing the same issues.

I now know that virtually all disease is preventable or reversible with the right nutrition and lifestyle choices. My aim is to motivate women to take control of their own health, inspiring them to believe that they can feel and look better, make the necessary changes, be free of pain and have an abundance of energy.

I educate and encourage women by sharing my knowledge and passion for nutrition, nurturing and nourishing their bodies back to optimal health. I do this by 121 personalised nutrition plans, group programmes and workshops. I also offer a free menopause support group in my local community.

I get a deep sense of satisfaction from helping others and making a difference to their lives. I work with women of all ages struggling with hormonal issues leading to infertility, stubborn weight gain, PMS, loss of muscle tone, low energy, brain fog, hot flushes, night sweats and anxiety to regain their health, vitality and wellbeing.

I want to educate you to enjoy delicious, nutritious food that will not feel difficult or like a diet and give you back the freedom to reach your goals and enjoy your life again.

I feel very privileged to be working with Femme Health as one of their advisors. Their mission to promote ‘Active fertility’ for all women, knowledge, resource and product all in one place makes me  believe that this platform will become an invaluable tool to women who want to find answers or other solutions to the conventional methods.
