The original article also used stronger language about “boosting” conception chances than the evidence supports. A device that retains semen close to the cervix should not be presented as a proven alternative to fertility assessment or treatment.
What is the twoplus Fertility Sperm Guide?
The twoplus Sperm Guide was a reusable silicone intravaginal device marketed to couples trying to conceive. Its design was intended to reduce semen leakage after intercourse and keep semen closer to the cervix for a period of time.
That describes the intended mechanism of the device. It does not establish that using it increases the chance of pregnancy or live birth for a particular couple.
How was it designed to work?
The device was inserted into the vagina before intercourse. The manufacturer described grooves, a soft flap and a curved shape intended to help retain semen near the cervix, with a tail remaining outside the body for removal.
The old femme article advised removal after about an hour and described the product as reusable for a limited number of uses. Anyone who still owns an older device should follow the instructions supplied with that specific product rather than relying on an archived blog post for medical-device instructions.
What the original product story was trying to solve
Semen leakage after intercourse
The Sperm Guide was designed around the common observation that some semen leaks from the vagina after intercourse. Leakage itself does not mean that conception cannot occur.
A non-invasive option
The appeal was that it was simple and did not involve medication or a clinical procedure. That does not make it a substitute for investigation when a couple is having difficulty conceiving.
Trying to make TTC feel practical
For some couples, having something tangible to try can feel reassuring. Product confidence should still be separated from claims about proven pregnancy outcomes.
Knowing when to seek help

Why we have removed the old sales claims
The previous version of this article described the Sperm Guide as increasing the likelihood of sperm reaching the egg and as an alternative to more invasive fertility treatments. Those statements were too strong.
Keeping semen in the vagina for longer is a proposed mechanism, not proof of improved conception or live-birth rates. Fertility depends on many factors including ovulation, sperm quality, the fallopian tubes, age and other health conditions.
