GlucoBooster™ Glucose Gel is a ready-to-use blueberry-flavoured glucose gel supplied as 8 x 30g sachets. Each sachet provides 10g of carbohydrate from glucose monohydrate.

The gel is designed to provide a fast source of glucose without mixing or preparation and can be consumed directly from the sachet. The manufacturer states that the glucose monohydrate is rapidly absorbed and reaches its peak effect in around five minutes.

Important: If you use GlucoBooster as part of a hypoglycaemia management plan, follow the amount and monitoring instructions given by your diabetes team or personal treatment plan. UK guidance commonly recommends 15–20g of fast-acting carbohydrate for an adult hypo, while one GlucoBooster sachet provides 10g.

Only give oral glucose to someone who is conscious and able to swallow safely. If a person with severe hypoglycaemia is unconscious or unable to swallow, do not give food or drink by mouth and seek urgent medical help according to their emergency plan.

How it works

Tear open the sachet and consume the gel directly. No mixing or water is required.

Each sachet provides 10g of fast-acting carbohydrate. If using GlucoBooster to treat a hypo, follow your individual diabetes management plan. UK guidance generally recommends 15–20g of fast-acting carbohydrate for adults, followed by checking blood glucose again after 10–15 minutes. If it remains below 4mmol/L, further treatment may be required.

Once your blood glucose has recovered above 4mmol/L, follow your diabetes team's advice regarding longer-acting carbohydrate or your next meal.

Never give glucose gel by mouth to someone who is unconscious or unable to swallow safely.

I had one when my bloods started to fall rapidly whilst running which helped a lot but like other things, it never happens straight away as I have to wait 15mins for them to kick in whether that be gels or jelly babies etc but, they did work and brought my bloods back upto level AND I really liked the taste!!
