Description

Flu A/B + COVID-19 Self-Test is a convenient at-home nasal swab test designed to detect and differentiate SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A and Influenza B antigens from a single sample. Instead of relying on symptoms alone — which can be very similar across COVID-19 and seasonal flu — the test provides separate results for all three viruses in approximately 15 minutes.

Everything required for testing is supplied, with no laboratory equipment needed. The nasal sample is mixed with the supplied extraction solution before four drops are added to the test cassette. A control line confirms that the test has performed correctly, while individually labelled COVID-19, Flu A and Flu B lines allow you to identify which viral antigen has been detected.

Important: this is an antigen test intended to aid diagnosis in people with symptoms, particularly during the first seven days of illness. A negative result does not completely rule out COVID-19 or influenza, particularly when viral levels are low. A reactive result should be considered alongside your symptoms and, where clinically appropriate, confirmed through a healthcare professional or alternative testing method. Seek medical advice if you are particularly unwell, short of breath, at increased risk of complications or your symptoms are not improving.

How it works

Read the enclosed Instructions for Use completely before beginning and wash and dry your hands.

Using the supplied sterile swab, carefully insert the tip into one nostril until gentle resistance is felt. Rotate the swab 5 times against the inside of the nostril, then repeat in the other nostril using the same swab.

Insert the swab into the extraction tube containing the buffer. Rotate it at least 6 times, pressing the swab head against the bottom and sides of the tube, then leave it in the solution for 1 minute.

Squeeze the sides of the tube while removing the swab, then securely attach the dropper tip.

Place the test cassette on a clean, flat surface and add 4 drops of the extracted sample into the sample well.

Wait 15 minutes before reading the result. Do not interpret the test after 20 minutes.

A visible control line (C) is required for a valid test. Refer to the supplied result guide to identify COVID-19, Flu A or Flu B positive results. If the control line does not appear, the test is invalid and should be repeated using a new test.

How quickly will I get my result?

A positive Influenza A or Influenza B result means the corresponding viral antigen has been detected and it is likely that you have that type of flu. Test results should be considered alongside your symptoms and medical history.

What should I do if I test positive for COVID-19?

A positive rapid antigen result means it is very likely that you have COVID-19. Current NHS guidance advises adults with a positive result to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the day the test was taken. Take particular care to avoid contact with people at increased risk of becoming seriously unwell.

Can I still have flu or COVID-19 if the test is negative?

Yes. A negative antigen result does not completely rule out infection. Viral antigen levels can be too low to detect, particularly depending on when you test. If symptoms persist, worsen or you remain concerned, seek medical advice and consider whether repeat or alternative testing is appropriate.

When should I seek medical advice for flu symptoms?

Contact your GP or NHS 111 if you feel very unwell, are short of breath, your symptoms are not improving after 7 days, or you are at greater risk of complications — including during pregnancy, from age 65, with certain long-term conditions or with a weakened immune system.

For some women, that journey may eventually include IVF. What is IVF? IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) is a fertility treatment where eggs are collected from the ovaries, fertilised with sperm in a laboratory, and then transferred back into the uterus as an embryo. People pursue IVF for many different reasons, including ovulation disorders, blocked fallopian tubes, male-factor infertility, unexplained infertility, age-related fertility challenges, and family building for LGBTQ+ couples and single parents by choice. Even though IVF has become increasingly common, it can still feel overwhelming when you're experiencing it for the first time. Between appointments, medication schedules, and unfamiliar terminology, there can be a lot to process emotionally and physically. If you're considering IVF or are already preparing to start treatment, here's what a typical IVF timeline might look like. The IVF Timeline: What to Expect Week by Week Weeks 1–2: Initial Consultation and Testing The IVF timeline usually begins with a series of tests and consultations. Your clinic may arrange: Blood tests and hormone panels Ultrasound scans Ovarian reserve testing Semen analysis (where applicable) This stage is all about understanding your individual fertility picture and creating a treatment plan tailored to you. Weeks 2–6: Priming Phase (If Required) Some treatment protocols include a priming phase using birth control or other medications. Although it might feel like a delay, this step helps prepare your body and encourages follicles to develop more evenly once stimulation begins. Days 1–12: Ovarian Stimulation This is often the stage people most associate with IVF. Daily hormone injections encourage the ovaries to produce multiple eggs rather than the single egg typically released during a natural cycle.
