Description
Tempdrop is a wearable basal body temperature (BBT) tracker designed to collect temperature data while you sleep. Worn on the upper arm overnight, it records temperature patterns and syncs them to the Tempdrop app so you can build a consistent cycle chart without taking a manual oral temperature first thing each morning.
BBT typically rises after ovulation as progesterone increases. Tracking that temperature shift over time can help you identify cycle patterns and confirm that an ovulatory temperature rise has occurred. The Tempdrop app also lets you log symptoms and review your cycle data in one place.

How it works
Tempdrop takes the most effective method of fertility tracking and makes it effortless. Here’s how:
Step 1 - Wear it to bed. Slip the Tempdrop sensor into the armband and wear it on your upper arm before you go to sleep. That’s it. No setup, no alarms, nothing to remember in the morning.
Step 2 - It tracks while you sleep. Throughout the night, Tempdrop collects thousands of temperature and movement data points from your body. Its smart algorithm filters out any disturbances - restless nights, late wake-ups, shift work - to calculate one accurate, reliable basal body temperature reading.
Step 3 - Sync in the morning. When you wake up, remove the sensor and open the Tempdrop app. A quick Bluetooth sync sends your overnight data straight to your smartphone - available on iOS and Android.

FAQs
Does it matter what time I wake up or how long I sleep?
Not at all - this is one of the things that makes Tempdrop different. Traditional BBT tracking requires you to wake up at exactly the same time every day, but Tempdrop's algorithm accounts for variations in your sleep duration and wake time. Whether you had a restless night, a lie-in, or an early start, your data remains accurate and reliable.
The only requirement is that the sensor is worn for a minimum of 3 hours, with at least 2 hours of sleep detected during that time - and those 2 hours don't need to be consecutive. So even if your sleep is broken or interrupted, Tempdrop can still give you a valid reading.
I have irregular cycles, can Tempdrop be my period tracker too?
Absolutely - Tempdrop is designed to support all cycles, including irregular ones.
Tracking fertility with an irregular cycle can feel overwhelming, but Tempdrop takes the stress out of it by continuously monitoring your basal body temperature while you sleep and adapting to your unique patterns over time.
While the app won't estimate future ovulation dates for irregular cycles, it still tracks and interprets your temperature data to confirm when ovulation has taken place.
You can also log cervical mucus observations in the app alongside your temperature data - a really useful addition for irregular cycles, as it can indicate when an ovulation attempt is near and give you additional fertile window insights.
So while your cycle might be unpredictable, Tempdrop helps you understand what's happening in your body every step of the way.
I am trying to conceive, how can Tempdrop track my fertile days?

Can I start using Tempdrop while on birth control?
Yes. You can start using Tempdrop straight away even if you are using another form of birth control, including hormonal birth control. Tempdrop is not dependent on your cycle status, so starting earlier allows you to begin building your tracking routine before your first ovulation after hormonal birth control or postpartum.
Is Tempdrop safe?
Completely - Tempdrop is designed with your safety in mind from the ground up.
The sensor only transmits a Bluetooth signal twice: in the first 30 seconds when turned on, and when you manually initiate syncing after waking up. Syncing takes less than 30 seconds, and no wireless signal is transmitted at all while you're sleeping. The Bluetooth 4.0 signal it uses is extremely low energy - approximately 1,000 times less than a standard mobile phone call.
While wearing it overnight, Tempdrop runs purely on a standard coin cell watch battery with no wireless connections active.
It's made from medical grade materials, including a stainless steel sensor, and holds CE certification. Please note the stainless steel may contain trace amounts of nickel, so if you have a known nickel sensitivity it's worth bearing that in mind.

How is Tempdrop different from other basal thermometers?
As opposed to taking a manual waking temp, Tempdrop offers continuous monitoring, filtering out waking times to give you a true nightly sleeping temperature. The smart algorithm learns your unique nightly and monthly patterns to filter variables that can otherwise skew temp results. Worn high up in the inside of the upper arm, the wearable fertility monitor captures an axillary reading making it more accurate than surface skin temperature.
The accompanying charting fertility app encourages tracking multiple fertility signs to better guide you in understanding your cycle and fertile window. If you already have a favourite fertility app, you can freely use it with your Tempdrop data. The choice is yours!
How does Tempdrop protect my cycle and fertility data?
Tempdrop says it does not sell or volunteer user data, and never has. It also states that it is GDPR compliant and that information shared with service providers is limited to what is essential for the app to function.
With your explicit consent, Tempdrop may share anonymised health data for legitimate women's-health research. It says personal information is not shared for that research, and you can opt in or out.
You can delete your account in the Tempdrop app. Tempdrop's account-deletion screen says this removes identifying data and irreversibly anonymises any remaining retained data so it cannot be traced back to you. If you want all associated data deleted rather than anonymised, Tempdrop advises contacting its support team before deleting the account.
For additional device-level privacy, Tempdrop advises iOS users to enable Face ID and Android users to add Tempdrop to their device's App Lock.

I’m happy with the Tempdrop.
I wouldn’t be happy that you don’t have the option to insure it when you live in the UK. Femme don’t offer insurance.
The US Tempdrop main site won’t sell to UK customers, so they won’t insure their product sold by third party companies.
It means that there is no way to insure it if you live in the UK. For an important item like this, and the cost involved, it’s a real miss to not be able to have the security of it being insured.
I've been wearing it for a couple of days now and I'm really happy. The extra band piece helped me secure the device and keep it in place, making it easy to use every night and morning for the temp sync. This feels way more accurate for recording BBT and it takes some stress away. I really recommend it!

So much easier than thermometer measuring, which was stressing me out and I would easily forget to do first thing. Straight forward and simple. Thanks!
Only had my Tempdrop for a month, so far the app and tracking is easy to use.
However, I feel that the band is badly designed. The fabric is stretchy, but the edges of the band are not, so they dig into your skin. My arm is quite small, and the only way I can adjust to the right size is using the hook and eyes - this is not very effective. Either the band is too loose and moves around in the night (so my temperature is inaccurate) or the band is too tight and is very uncomfortable). I’m going to buy a soft jersey band from Etsy in the hope that this problem is solved

Love the actual temp drop for tracking, however, as many others have mentioned, the app itself is pretty awful from a usability standpoint. It looks nice aesthetically, but it’s not very compact, intuitive, or quick to navigate. There are too many little icons/images, and it’s hard to keep track of what each one represents at a glance.
I really wish it functioned more like Fertility Friend — simple, data-focused, and easy to read. If it did, I’d absolutely pay for it. As of now, I just end up transferring all my data over to Fertility Friend anyway, and that only cost me $20 for the entire year.

I'm finding it fine to wear. No issue there. The only problem is that twice when I've tried to sync it, it has flashed red and then I've lost the data. The button under the fabric is a little awkward to press. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it yet, will give it some more time.

So far so good, seems to track efficiently. Only negative is the app always has a pop up when you open it, pushing you to upgrade to paid version. I really think this is poor as the item price is quite expensive - I shouldn’t have to click a pop up every time I open the app.

Really enjoying using TempDrop, finding it so interesting tracking the changes through my cycle, has given me the freedom to sleep naturally and not be forced to wake up at the same time everyday. It has made me realise how cool my body is!!
Works well for me straight away. It’s pricey, but nice not to have to try to wake up at the same time of day - so especially good for people with less regular sleep patterns/disturbed sleep
I'm so glad I made the jump to Tempdrop. So much easier to handle than a regular BBT thermometer! Side note - the armband was very tight at first (and too loose with the extender), but it loosened very quickly.
I love this tracker. Previously I used a standard thermometer and was tracking the body temps by myself so when I discovered Tempdrop I was super relieved, no more waking up at the same time and trying to be consistent with bedtime. I have been using this for a few weeks now and it’s great - you’d never know you’re wearing it while you’re asleep and so easy to use. Armband fits upper arm fine, easy to secure, comfortable. I’m not the best sleeper so good to know that doesn’t affect the way it works - really recommend if you don’t want to wear another piece of tech during the day and prefer a more discreet version while you’re asleep. Has already been helping me spot patterns with my period health.
